Make a splash this summer by linking your Nectar and Executive Club accounts

How many Avios can I collect with Nectar?

Sure, not every development in the travel world this year has put smiles on our faces, but there was one piece of news earlier this year that did: when the British Airways Executive Club teamed up with Nectar, one of the UK’s biggest and best loyalty schemes for those who want to be rewarded for their shopping choices

The winning alliance means that even if you haven’t been flying so much (or at all) recently, you can keep building up Avios and working towards your next flight, hotel or upgrade, all via your weekly shop. That’s right – Nectar points can now be converted to Avios.

“You’ll be turning your pasta purchases into a weekend in Italy before you know it”

With 350 brands across the UK falling under the Nectar umbrella, it’s never been easier to start banking your rewards – and then converting them to Avios. Link your Executive Club and Nectar accounts and for every 400 Nectar points you’ll receive a tidy 250 Avios. We all know how quickly those everyday spends can add up, meaning you’ll be turning your pasta purchases into a weekend in Italy before you know it.

So, you already know that shopping at Sainsbury’s can net you convertible points, but the Nectar scheme goes far beyond grocery shopping. Here are some of the ways you can use everyday spending with some of the
country’s best brands to get you up in the air...

Habitat
Have your four walls started looking a little too familiar over the past year and a half? Habitat (pictured below) can help you out – it’s been making affordable, modern interiors since 1964. Shop online or in store and you’ll collect one Nectar point per £1 spent – meaning it’s not just your home that’ll get a freshen up as your purchases can end up providing a refreshing break.

eBay
Will it be a pair of designer heels perfect for a night of bar hopping in Manhattan? Or a top-of-the-range camera to document your trip of a lifetime in South Africa? You’ll find all this and more on eBay, which is still heaving with bargains if you play your auction cards right. For every £1 you spend, you’ll collect one Nectar point.

Just Eat
You may already have become firm friends with Just Eat during the pandemic – it works with more than 20,000 restaurants and takeaways across the UK, arranging delivery within 45-60 minutes from the moment you order. Now here’s something even sweeter than dessert – you can collect one Nectar point for every £1 spent. So that lockdown meal can end up contributing to a blow-out hotel stay once you’re ready to travel again.

Shop to fly: 18,500 Avios is enough for an off-peak return economy flight from London to more than 40 European destinations

Argos
Shop in store or online at Argos and you’ll collect one Nectar point per £1 you spend. Get in the holiday mood by buying new luggage – with any luck, your next trip through the airport will be smoother than a toddler scooting along on a Trunki (£35). Or keep practising those culinary skills you discovered in lockdown with some new cookware and kitchen equipment.

Sainsbury’s
For every £1 you spend at Sainsbury’s, you’ll collect one Nectar point. And theres lots more to buy apart from groceries – you’ll also collect points when you get the kids’ new school uniforms from its Tu clothing range, or even when you fill up on fuel on your way home.
