A new gin bar opens at New York’s JFK Terminal 7, the A380 fleet returns to the skies and Kenya Airways is our newest codeshare partner

Aviation Gin bar opens at New York JFK lounge
Are you looking to treat yourself to a delicious cocktail ahead of a long-haul flight? Happily, a new gin bar has been unveiled at the recently reopened lounge at New York JFK’s Terminal 7. The Aviation Gin bar is located on the lounge’s outdoor terrace, with bartenders serving up Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation American Gin alongside Blake Lively’s Betty Buzz non-alcoholic mixers.

The Portland-based gin is described as being “infused with a democratic blend of botanicals – cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper and two kinds of orange peel to create a smoother, softer, more refined take on gin.” Meanwhile, Betty Buzz is a new range of mixers made using real fruit juice, with options including tonic water, sparkling grapefruit, lemon club soda, sparkling lemon-lime and ginger beer.

“It’s an honour to welcome more of our customers back to our JFK lounge,” says Mark Murphy, lounge operations manager. “The Aviation Gin bar is the latest feature to our lounge, serving up some gin classics – we couldn’t think of a better mixer than the newly launched Betty Buzz. This is a unique opportunity and we anticipate it will be a popular addition to our lounge.”

Did you spy Peggy and Leon on your travels?

Meet Peggy and Leon, our resident Skyflyers
Our resident Skyflyers, Peggy the winged horse and Leon the lion, are two curious, fun-loving creatures who’ve been living in our Coat of Arms for more than 100 years. They hop out at every destination and love meeting new people and seeing new places. This half term, the characters were on hand to welcome families and children back to the skies with delicious chocolates at our dedicated family check-in at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 Zone E.
