Doctor Who celebrates 60th anniversary with dedicated channel on our in-flight entertainment
Doctor Who is celebrating its 60th anniversary and, as part of the activity, we’re launching a dedicated Doctor Who channel on our in-flight entertainment. From 1 November, passengers will get the chance to watch a curated collection of 13 episodes of the longest-running science-fiction television series in the world.

Doctor Who first aired back in 1963, and the much-beloved brand has been inspiring and entertaining audiences globally ever since. For Doctor Who, this 60th anniversary year is a catalyst for a bold new era. Alongside this partnership, audiences can look forward to three blockbuster 60th anniversary specials that see the reunion of a fan favourite duo. Award-winning actor  David Tennant returns as the Fourteenth Doctor, alongside celebrated actor and comedian  Catherine Tate, who reprises her iconic role as Donna Noble.

We also see the return of celebrated and visionary writer and showrunner  Russell T Davies, who rejoins Doctor Who, having achieved huge success with Years and YearsA Very British Scandal and It’s a Sin. He is back with more incredible storytelling, bringing more scale and ambition to this iconic show than ever before.

Abu Dhabi returns to the route map
The four-year hiatus is over – Abu Dhabi will be back on Heathrow’s departures board from 20 April 2024, serving the UAE’s capital on a year-round basis. That means you will then no longer need to get a connecting flight at Doha, but will be able to reach your destination directly. Flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft and join the three times daily service from Heathrow to fellow Middle East metropolis, Dubai.
