A message from the Chairman and CEO

As international travel amps up, this month’s guest editor and British Airways Chairman and CEO, Sean Doyle, checks in

Each month, our Executive Club magazine drops into your inbox, reminding you of your much-deserved perks. It’s where you’ll find smarter ways to spend and collect your Avios and enjoy behind-the-scenes scoops. But this special 100th issue is about more than that. It’s a thank you – for your unwavering loyalty, for your patience and for your trust.

When I became British Airways’ CEO and, most recently, Chairman, I knew I had a challenge on my hands. What I couldn’t have anticipated, however, was the special support from our Executive Club Members, who personify not only that great British spirit, but the airline’s true north – directing and driving us forward. After all, you make us fly.

Now, with transatlantic travel on the horizon and clearer travel guidelines with every government announcement, we can start to celebrate a more meaningful return to flying. Scattered friends and relatives can finally reunite, businesses can get back to face-to-face meetings, and those in need of a stress-relieving holiday can enjoy the break they truly deserve.

“We’re determined to rebuild our airline to make it better than it was before”

We’re excited to say that we’re bringing back more destinations and opening more of our lounges. And we’re determined to rebuild our airline to make it better than it was before. That’s what BA Better World is all about – our pledge to creating a sustainable future and to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

So, as more of our red, white and blue tailfins soar again, I and my fellow colleagues – from those in our offices, our engineering hangars and training facilities to those serving you a hot cup of tea in the cabin – want to thank you for choosing British Airways and we look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

I hope you enjoy this special 100th issue and continue to find joy in this fantastic community.

Sean Doyle
Chairman and CEO, British Airways
