British Airways breaks Superbrands records, plus new aircraft arrivals, summer schedule announcements and Heathrow Terminal 3 temporary lounge closure

British Airways scores a hat-trick
For a record-breaking third consecutive year, British Airways has been named Consumer Superbrand, as well as walking away with the Business award for the second time in a row. BA has also scooped up two medals in the Business Traveller Cellar in the Sky Awards, recognising the quality of wine served in the cabins.

Summer holidays made even easier
In response to increased demand, from May to September 2016 there will be an additional weekly flight to Athens and Lisbon from Heathrow, two new weekly flights to Gibraltar and an extra five flights a week to Nice. BA customers flying from Gatwick will also benefit from extra weekly flights to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Funchal. These flights join new services to Inverness, San José in Costa Rica, San Jose in California and JFK from London Gatwick.

New planes and updated cabins have landed
Customers can now enjoy the latest refurbished Boeing 747 cabins on flights to Boston. The update includes more comfortable seats and state-of-the-art entertainment systems. There are now seven refreshed jumbos in service, with another 11 in the pipeline. The airline has also taken delivery of its 11th double-decker Airbus A380 and its sixth hi-tech 787-9 Dreamliner.

Heathrow Terminal 3 lounge closed for refurbishment
An updated American Airlines lounge at Terminal 3 will be available to BA customers during the summer of 2016. The BA lounge is currently closed while renovations take place, including the addition of new private shower suites, dressing areas and updated food and beverage facilities. Customers can still make use of the Galleries lounge in Terminal 5.
